Why you should have a mentor by your side?

Why a mentor really matters?
In a fast-paced world, our attention span is fading away at a lightning speed. We are running on the road to success without really examining the stretch of the road.
Yes, determination and passion have led great men to scale greater heights. But we need someone to be the wind beneath our wings. Someone to help us navigate and follow the map.
The map is important because you sure, know where you want to go but without a proper starting point and the necessary guidance for the road ahead, we are only likely to get lost. This is where the role of a good mentor comes to play. A mentor doesn’t always have to be some distant and unreachable figure. A mentor can be someone from your own circle. Someone who already had traversed the roads you now want to take up.
He is here to guide you. To tell you the alternate road to do the same thing in a much better way. Besides that, to inspire you and challenge you to fight your own comfort zone. He is here to shatter your limited perception towards the things you know about yourself.
“A mentor isn’t some divine intervention who will make everything right all at once. Nonetheless, He is your more personalized and credible form of self-help books.”
Why do we have instructors at the gym or in dance classes? Even when you could be a fitness enthusiast or a good enough dancer already. Because you need someone to push you constantly. Someone to remind you of your purpose, and therefore to help you understand the nuances of the things you do.
One good example is the movie ‘Ballerina’ by Eric Summer and Eric Warin. The story revolves around a poor orphan girl, Felicie, who is a passionate dancer. She dreams of becoming a ballerina someday. However, her lack of formal training becomes a major challenge to her being selected for the role of Clara. Unless a former ballerina, Odette, agrees to mentor her. And the rest is a beautiful inspiring story. This is what mentorship is all about. It helps you perfect your game by making you learn something new each time, therefore preparing you for the bigger picture.
It’s all great when you’re all by yourself. But it can be legendary when you have a mentor. Therefore, Pakka Papad!
